| Mislav, a young man in his early 20's possessing the mental age of a 10-year-old, returns to his parent's home after having spent many years in various institutions. His arrival is a shock for everybody - for his siblings, who until then did not even know of his existence, and for the villagers who react with hostility toward the "stranger". Mislav goes through a difficult time of learning and adapting, a time where he pours all of his thoughts and emotions into the diary which he has saved from his days in the institutions. Soon the villagers are touched by his goodwill, and a girl, Jasenka, is attracted to him, but when her father learns of their relationship, their tender love story takes a turn ...
