| Five thousand kilometres of savannah, bush and jungle, wild animals, strange cultures – Esther and Horst are having the adventure of their life. Stolen horses, stranded without a drop of water, narrowly escaping death by stoning by 500 savage natives; these are just a few of the experiences on their 12-month expedition from South Africa to Kenya. American newspapers will later call it „The Ride of the Century“, though it is also a journey back to the origins of mankind, an escape from the “overkill“ and alienation of modern life, back to a more genuine, basic and profound existence. About the author: Horst Hausleitner was born in 1960. He became acquainted with horses later in life. As a saxophonist he has worked with stars such as Liza Minelli, Johnny Cash and even „jamming“ with Bill Clinton in 2003. He dropped out of life as a performing artist in order to undertake an adventurous journey with his wife through Africa. Horst Hausleitner now resides in Vienna. |
