Constance wants to die. But her attempt at suicide is as much of a failure as her whole life.

An 8-year-old son is all that remains of a marriage gone wrong. She forges ahead for his sake, but is becoming ever more lost in sorrow and anger. Her tyrannical father and egocentrical mother are stuck in a loveless union incapable of providing her with any support, and so her life becomes a constant battle against her demons. Only Sebastian, himself the father of a young daughter, stands by her. Together with their children they spend a holiday in a house by the sea. This summer changes everything and sees them forced into making a decision – for life?
