Constance wants to die. But her attempt at suicide is as much of a failure as her whole life.

An 8-year-old son is all that remains of a marriage gone wrong. She forges ahead for his sake, but is becoming ever more lost in sorrow and anger. Nicole Makarewicz was born in Vienna in 1976. She studied Science of Communication, Sociology, and Psychology. She has worked as a free-lance journalist since 1994, with her work published by various Austrian newspapers and periodicals. "Drop by Drop" is her first novel.

She is married and the mother of two daughters, one of whom is adopted.
