This book deals with what we know and what we believe in. The scientist, Thirring, describes the evolution of the Universe and how out of the chaos of the Big Bang evermore complex structures evolved ultimately climaxing in human beings.

Johannes Huber concentrates on Molecular Biology and proves that the traditional ideas about our conciousness have been dramatically revised by the exploration of hormones and by Epigenetics. Our conciousness has developed along the lines of reproduction and survival of the species and is ill-fitted to deal with the very small or the very big as well as "the beyond" or an experience of a "God". Nevertheless he comes to the provacative conclusion that our conciousness can depict revelation.

University Professor Dr Johannes C. Huber was born in 1946. He is a Doctor of Theology and Medicine, and is head of the Gynaecology, Endocrinology, and Reproductive Medicine departments at the University of Vienna. From 1973 to 1983 he was Secretary to the Archbishop and Cardinal Franz König. In 1987 he was Visiting Professor at George Washington University, at John-Hopkins University and at Georgetown University (USA). From 2001 to 2007, Chairman of the Austrian Bio-Ethics Commission.

University Professor Dr Walter Thirring was born in 1927. He is one of the most renowned scientists of the age within the field of Theoretical Physics.

1953-54: Member of the Princeton Institute for Advanced Studies; contact with Schrödinger, Heisenberg, Einstein, Pauli.

1956-57: Visiting Professor at MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts and later at the University of Washington at Seattle. He then proceeded to teach Physics in Bern and Vienna. 1968-1971: Head of the Theoretical Department of CERN. He is credited with approximately 150 scientific papers, with many awards, i.e., Eötvös-Medaille, the Erwin-Schrödinger Prize, Max-Planck-Medaille, Honorary Doctorate from the Comenius University, Bratislava, and the Henri-Poincare Prize from the International Association of Mathematical Physics. In 2008 Seifert Verlag published his autobiography, "The Pleasure of Exploration".
